The best thing about this was the original use of the art from elementary reader textbooks. This film should be viewed to let people know the sick and twisted views of others are and how sick media entertainment can sometimes be portrayed. This film is disturbing but reflects too much of what is called entertainment.

that was crazy...it almost makes u wanna go out and kill a rabbit LOL jk. anywayz that was done very well and the idol word floating around made me think of the second meaning - what the kids look up to. this was a truly original film and its hard 2 stop thinking about. those kids were creepie (probably because of how innocent they looked vs. how violent they really were) nice job seriously. u deserve an award 4 this.

That was incredible!I mean wow!, I loved the way they made the idol and how the way the children were so greedy, although they lived together and alone with no parents. And also when everything in its surroundings is named.Great job, hope to see more because this was the best ive seen in the films ive ever seen.

Never mind the animation, let's look at what the story tells us! One of the reasons why I hate people put clearly into images and words not even necessary. Wonderfully done. Also the fact that cute-looking children are used is so clever. Often the cutest looking kids are the most evil and selfish. I prefer the company of animals to that of people any day! Great, clever, super!

This was real genuine art. Extremely surreal. A hodge podge of styles. I see some Mark Ryden in this but maybe it's just me. I didn't like the idol, aesthetically - I'd have done something different with him, but that's a small complaint.. I'm only bothering to critique this film at all because basically it was brilliant.

This film is great! These two 'children' exploited that little yellow idol, using violence, and in the end they died from what they turned into jewels. It was funny,creative and this director needs to bring the thunder... some more!

Although the text attached to objects throughout were clever but overdone, it was the unconventional elements and plot twists that held my fascination in this mesmerizing allegory to greed. The use of a very stylized form of illustration popularized in the mid twentieth century, artistically and meticulously layered made this surreal whimsical vision a delight.

Reminiscent of Henry Darger's work. Liked the words hovering over the images as they moved through the scenery and the soft beat music tones. Liked particularly the "Idol" word...floating. Got me thinking about our everyday "idols" and how we may be possessed by them...

Set in a moralistic and picturesque setting circa 1950, but with the tragic current day lack of remorse or sense of consequence in a serial killer's psyche...In the vein of Aesop's Fables, the moral of the story could be varied~ "putting all your eggs in one basket", "greed often over reaches itself", "one bad turn deserves another", and my favorite: "a little thing in hand is worth more than a great thing in prospect"...Ahhh, "no gratitude from the wicked"!

There has always been a surreal quality about vintage text book illustrations. Every child is strangely happy in a sort of drug induced kind a way. and It always appears as though there's a loaf of bread,a bowl of oranges and shiny vegetables lying around. Totally dig the use of text book words in this short.
