Funniest shoot I ever did. Billy Bob made a reference to Foghat. Mickey appreciated losing the rocks under his feet. We had the greatest night camping out there. Greatest crew I ever laughed with. One to remember. David you have a winner. I always find something to laugh at every time I watch this. Thanks for the opportunity to work with you. p.s. Scott sure was good for at the last minute acting. I love that guy.

I see it as the classic social comment of conformity in the workplace, repression of free thinking, and if you go against the flow, the norm will take you out. "The West don't need an ecclectic Cowboy"...

The acting is first class. But the end does not follow the Soul of the story. A nicer end could have been ...they begin a "skipping",chain reaction through the whole west. Westerns would still have been Westerns. But everyone would have had a lot more fun. Slope convinced Tar to let his inner self out. As soon as they start having the time of their lives, out in the middle of nowhere, two total strangers shoot them. (minus 2 points for the ending) Otherwise, Lets skip!

As with any film Billy Bob touches, it's golden. I believe he is THE most talented actor alive. This short made me laugh out loud. Mickey, (he lives in my town) nice guy though he is, is NOT the kind of guy you want to see SKIP. Billy Bob told him, "You'll die with your boots on,' ... but he didn't. BILLY BOB did, as they showed in the last frames. It has all that a "big" movie has, character development, a plot, climax, irony, humor, emotions, etc. I love it. A !!

Great short! I like the simplicity. The acting is great. And I LOVED the ending.. didn't expect it at all in fact. The "violence" is not "pointless", rather very creative and funny. Get a life Les. Your liberal jealousy is unbecoming.

A great, funny short movie marred by a predictable and creativity-starved ending. No other way to resolve the film but to throw in gratuitous, pointless violence? Jeff Lester should take this one back to the editing room.

It was great. Billy Bob showed his fabulous gift for acting. Mickey Jones was fantastic. He's come a long way from being the drummer with Kenny Rogers and The First Edition. Susan, I didn't know you had it in you. One of the best shorts I've ever seen. It really made my day. More, more, more!

Existentialist theme. You have complete freedom to do whatever you want. Fear and attachments hold us back. But when you do make a choice about life. You must live with the consequences. They may have died because of the skipping. But you can say that they were authentic humans rather than herd comformists.

I've been a fan of Mickey Jones for a very long time, and I love Billy Bob. I give this short 5 stars. It excelled in every way. The script, acting, directing, the music, can't say enough-but everybody should do a little skipping in life.

Well BLA52, it's about how the choices a man has to make though his life don't always work out. And everyone once in a while wishes they could be as carefree as they were when they were a child. Throuble is, if you are an adult & act like a carefree child, you'll likely get ridiculed (or in this case, shot) just for a childish moment of freedom!

I've watched this several times since it first appeared. Few short films manage to attain that level of true greatness in a classic and memorable sense, which this one does. Right up there with "Closet Cases of the Nerd Kind" and "Hardware Wars", "The Last Real Cowboys" is a gem. Don't skip it!

This is a great short film. I love the usage of Sepia in this movie. It really gives you the feel of the ol' west. Billy Bob Thorton's role couldn't of been done by anyone else. Not even Pual Newman, or John Wayne! I give this film two thumbs up!
