Long ago I saw on atomfilm great animation about a man who invented some kind of magical glasess. When you watch through them, everything seems to be beautiful. He start to produce them on mass scale. After that he somehow loose his creativity (his heart stop to shine). Did anyone remember that? it started out funny...then it was a little TOO depressing toward the end. there could have been something in there to lighten the mood just a little without getting rid of the message. over all, tho it was good and i loved the facts :)

simply put, even though people are saying its sad, its not that sad, Harvy did more in his life then a lot of people I know what he did do right proves the nature of the human spirit, from everything he lost, he gained just as much and I liked the messages this movie had. Personally there are days I feel like Harvey in the luck department, but I also know I will gain something from it eventually and I am sure everyone here would say the same thing

Amazing! It really did deserve an Oscar. The message about seizing the day was superb, the animation was top of the line, the story was fantastic, and the humor was great. I haven't seen a better film then this in a long, long time. REALLY makes you think.

What an absolutely wonderful short film. I think this should be mandatory for all 9th grade students to watch and ponder what its meaning is. I havent been more inspired to go outside and dance with every person I see since Riverdance ;-)

No matter how many times I've seen this film, I'm always moved to the brink of tears by it's powerful imagery and theme. Definitely too intense for children, but a wonderful, powerful, and almost spiritual message to never concede. Absolutely brilliant, and well-deserving of the Oscar it earned. The best short on Atomfilms I've ever seen. Kudos!

The artistry of this small film is incredible. Wonderful claymation, great music, and a surprise every minute for the characters. Geoffrey Rush's narration is a big plus. A great art experience, and fun!

I just wanted to add a reply to the one critical comment about the nudity. Harvie joining a nudist colony and running around naked is just a metaphor here for abandoning his previous mindset and civil conventions, for his new found love of life and for being true to yourself. He emerged as a new person after the Carpe Diem episode. That's the way I see it, it's not a pleading for all people to run around naked. Oh, and props to Geoffrey Rush, he is such a great narrator!

I loved this film from start to finish. The quirky, randomness of elements that made up the story rendered the experience all the more enjoyable--and proved to be not-so-random as the film progressed. Excellent writing, wonderful animation!

I see why this was a winner! I agree with the Academy 100% It was cute it was funny, it was sad, and almost soothing. The story was fantastic. (I love narrative short films.) I just really enjoyed every minute of it. I don't support the whole cigarette quote in the end. But in a way it's true. I suggest taking a look at this AtomFilm.
